3D Printed Blood Vessels!

Here at Malta 3D Printing we like to keep up to date with what’s new in the world of 3D printing technology, and thought you might like to as well 🙂

3D printing has already helped make massive strides in medical research through 3D bioprinting technology with the use of biomaterials, with breakthroughs in organ-printing research being published every month. This weekend, a team at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) broke new ground and has found a way to 3D print blood vessels.

Using a 3D bioprinter, the team successfully printed small networks and microchannels that have a similar architecture to blood vessels. This development means that we are even closer to having transplantable tissues or safe drugs being created from 3D printing technology.
